Donating Milk to the Mothers' Milk Bank

Thank you for your interest in donating your precious milk!

Without our precious donors, we would not be able to help to save the lives of our recipient infants.

In order to be a donor, you must be in good health; a non smoker, taking no medications or herbs during the time the milk is pumped, and have a baby less than 6 months old when you start donating. We are looking for donors who can give us a minimum total donation of 150 ounces of milk.

Donors are not paid for their milk in any way. They do have the personal satisfaction of knowing that they made it possible to improve the life of a baby, or actually save that baby’s life.
The first step in donating is to call the Mothers’ Milk Bank at (303)869-1888 or toll free (877)458-5503. At that time donor eligibility will be determined and then a packet of information will be sent to you. The paperwork is a donor screening form, a donor consent form, and medical release forms.
A blood test at the time of donation is required. (See Fact Sheet).

Previously collected, frozen milk is acceptable as long as you were not sick or taking medications when it was pumped. We can provide you with containers to put your milk in from then on.

Drop offs of milk are done on an individual basis in the Denver metro area and along the Front Range.

Donors who live outside of Colorado are sometimes needed. We always take milk from qualified donors who have delivered a preterm baby (less than 36 weeks gestation) or if you have no dairy products in your diet. Please call to find out if we are taking donors from outside Colorado at this time. We pay for the shipping of the milk.
